While growing up in Taiwan, Irene learned Chinese Calligraphy from her father, Chinese calligraphy and painting has become her lifelong passion since. Her interest in arts has brought her to experiencing gardening, Ikenobo, pencil drawing, and watercolor painting. Irene has been studiously taking lessons with Mr. James Liu who is specialized in Chinese Lingnan style. The mysterious nature of water and mountains has been a traditional subject for Chinese landscape paintings and Lingnan style exhibits a unique technique to interpret the peace and tranquility of this natural beauty. Irene has devoted herself in pursuing a more masterful skill in Chinese brushing and has enabled her to openly express the poetic moods and emotions of the free spirit deep inside her.
